Review: Avon Glimmerstick Eyeliner

"Creamy formula glides on smoothly for precision lining that won’t drag or smudge, and wears for up to 12 hours. Retractable pencil means no need for sharpening. Waterproof."

Colours available:

Blackest Black

Majestic Plum

Starry Night Blue

Cosmic Brown

Saturn Grey

Pros
Creamy and easy to apply without tugging the lids
Very pigmented
Removes easily with eye make-up remover
Retractable packaging
Once freshly applied, you can smudge it straight away with a smudger pencil to create a simple smoky eye look
No need for a sharpener

Cons

Since the liner is softer compared to other pencil liners, the tip can easily break

Overall

Though the name states 'Glimmerstick', the Blackest Black came out matte black with no glimmer. However, if you're trying to create really dramatic eyes and wanted the gel liner/liquid liner effect in pencil form, this is the one you're looking for. Definitely worth the money and I would definitely buy again!

Tips

To prevent eyeliner from further smudging, "set" the pencil liner with a similar shade of powder eyeshadow

Do not tug your lids when you apply eyeliner

Apply a thick line on your upper lash line, use a smudge brush and smudge gently with a wiper motion to create very simple and easy-to-do smoky eyes

Smoky eyes

To create smoldering, smoky eyes, stay away from blue hues – which can make you look like you have undereye circles. Instead, go for black, grey or brown. Then, follow these steps:

1. Use a cream concealer to make a smooth base for your eyeshadow.

2. Trace your top lashline from the inner corner to the outer using eyeliner (black or grey looks best) I recommend Jillian Dempsey for Avon Professional Kohl Eyeliner as it has a built-in smudger. Use the same pencil to dot between your lower lashes. Smudge both lashlines.

3. Sweep powder shadow such as Avon True Colour Eyeshadow Quad (brown, grey and dark green all work with black or grey liner) over your lid and into your crease, blending the colour up and outward.

4. Dust a lighter, neutral eyeshadow over your brow bone.

5. Finish with two coats of Avon SuperShock black mascara!

Avon Ultra Colour Rich Moisture Seduction Lipstick

Colour is what binds lipstick and women together. Since women don’t want dry lips, Avon’s Ultra Colour Rich Moisture Seduction lipstick will provide women with moisture and colour at the same time.

Imagine a dry, wilting flower that lacks luster. If you add water, it will bloom beautifully. Same thing goes for the lips. This lipstick will do the trick since it boasts Repleni-MoistureBoost technology that seals in moisture so that the lip colour becomes more vibrant. Women will love how their lips will bloom with colour because when moisture is rich, the colour becomes richer.

Ingredients: Moisturising ingredients like allantoin, Vitamins A, C, E and Jojoba oil

Best bits:
Has a hint of fruity scent
Glides on lips easily even without lip balm
Lips do not flake or dry up in the middle of the day
Inexpensive for a good quality lipstick
Has SPF

Arabian Glow

We've had about 3 days of sunshine so far this year, and I'm already getting excited about the summer...colourful  floaty dresses, BBQs in the garden, lazy days at the beach...and of course glowing sun-kissed skin. I've already stocked up on my fake tan and bronzers! I would highly recommend the 'Multistylo' which you can find on page 98 of the Avon brochure. It's available in deep bronze or shimmering bronze and can be used on eyes, cheeks AND lips! It gives such a healthy glow - I LOVE it!
For a sun-kissed look you also need a bronzer. On page 98 of the brochure you'll find the 'Arabian Glow Bronzing Pearls'. These contain light-reflective pigments which help create that warm healthy glow! An alternative is the deep bronze/ shimmering bronze pressed powder on page 99. The powder gives you a heavier coverage and creates a gorgeous instant tan. Everyone should own one of these bronzers!
